I guess as 2019 closes out and 2020 rolls in…we can all reflect on the trends of 2019 to predict the outcome of 2020…by watching all the top news stories of 2019 both on TV, or on lazy website round-ups like every year before it….so we can all assume things will pretty much stay the same for you and for me.
Maybe tech will get more Virtual Reality, maybe Micro Influencers will take the money from the social media Influencers, and as Celebrities move into being “influencers” maybe influencers will be eliminated all together….maybe websites will become obsolete and you’ll have to get your news and content and opinion from the evil corporations with the deep pockets, maybe videogames will become immersive virtual reality bullshit….maybe a lot of things will happen…but you’ll still remain the same degenerate failure at life loser a year older, closer to death, maybe you’ll discover you have a chronic illness…it could be the year, because you know one year down the line it will be the year….and maybe you’ll get laid, maybe you’ll get divorced, maybe you’ll be cheated on, maybe you’ll be doing the cheating, but ultimately…it will be the same routine, the same bad habits, maybe with a little more noise as we all sit on our phones waiting for people we know but don’t like to update what they did this holiday season so we can judge them.
I never get emotional at New Years because it’s all been a big blur with too much computer screen time, too few private jets…or really a home without black mold in it…
