The interesting thing about Rihanna, is that she’s gone from being one of the biggest pop stars to being a panty model. Sure it’s for her own brand, but it’s kind of a weird career arc, but a weird career arc is pretty consistent to Rihanna.
As far as I’m concerned, the being taken from a Shanty in Barbados and brought to another country with all the proper work visas in place all while underage, and really all while she didn’t even have that much raw talent, there was once a video circulating of her singing in her High School and she fucking sucked…so hard…you’ never expect a record exec to invest in her and create her. It just doesn’t make sense.
I was told by someone I know in Barbados that she was a sex worker, but that’s all hearsay. An underage sex worker for the British Tourists…it makes sense to me.
Clearly she likes to pose in her underwear and clearly her underwear brand is making her a lot of money. So it is in part her exhibitionism, coupled with her love of money, building out the brand. Probably far more rewarding than going on another tour, singing and dancing for the fans like some kind of idiot, when she really doesn’t need to be doing any of that, she’s already got her pile of money.
I like her new found thickness, even if THICC at Thirty ain’t my thing.
