There is a comedy festival happening in Montreal Canada. The city I live in. The comedy festive is one I’ve been to many times over the last 20 years or so, not necessarily because I like comedy, I actually find it fucking stupid, and laughter redundant, and losers standing on stage talking about relatable nonsense they practice in front of a mirror for years pretty fucking lame…
But last night I was given free tickets to see Tom Green, and I went into thinking of him as a bit of a clown or silly, not the brand of comedy I was into or sense of humor I really liked. Even though I remember him in the 90s going viral before the internet – people would pass around his cable access show they recorded on VHS, the same show that got him on MTV….and a show I thought was brilliant back then….but that I totally forgot about.
So I went in with no expectations. The opening act came on, some black chick talking about dating and being black and being a comic and all kinds of terrible things that come with people having confidence to get on stage without necessarily anything else to offer. It made me want to shoot myself in the dick to see if I still feel….
But then Tom Green got on, and I realized within minutes he was genius. I actually laughed the whole fucking act and that never happens. It was smart, it was dark, it was relatable, it was clever…and I suggest you all go support him because so much dog shit is getting famous with social media, that the actual talents are getting lost in the noise.
That said, at the event, I saw at least one slut I could tell was into instagram by her outfit who whined about some shit in some uptalk….and at least one busty women tried to walk past me in the aisle who I didn’t move out of the way for so that she’d brush up against me.
I generally hate being in public, some form of agoraphobia, but I’m glad I went out there, even though the last event I went to involved open bar and two or three girls getting wind of me being the dude who writes this site, which they didn’t seem to like or be fans of, even though I didn’t know people read this site, and they proceeded to throw their drinks on me…not once but throughout the event and even had some dude they recruited threaten to beat me up…while the entire time I was just minding my own business trying to drink because I wasn’t leaving because of the open bar…not to mention…I didn’t even know who these girls who hated me so much were…which made the whole thing creepier but I did know they were lesbians. Fucking lesbians.
